Biblical Studies

The Biblical Ministry curriculum provides a theological education for those called to serve in the local church. This program is designed to equip students with a biblical, theological, and practical foundation for Christian education, pastoral ministry, and missionary work.

Pastoral Ministry
The Pastoral Ministry curriculum is designed to provide a theological education for those called and qualified to pursue pastoral ministry (per the qualifications found in 1 Tim. 3:1–7; Tit. 1:5-9; and 1 Pet. 5:1–4). In addition to the units in the Biblical Studies program, this curriculum track also includes classes that train the student in expository preaching—with a view to further developing his gifts for present and future pastoral ministry in the local church.

Old Testament II
A survey of the Old Testament, with a focus on the contents of each book—literary structure (outline, themes, purpose), historical background, geographical settings—for comprehension and application. Part I (BI 110) will cover the Law and History (Genesis–Esther). Part II (BI 120) will cover Poetry and Prophecy (Job–Malachi).

Hermeneutics
BI 200
An introduction to the science and art of hermeneutics (Bible interpretation). Major interpretive approaches to the Bible are considered, with a focus on the historical-grammatical method. General and special principles of interpretation are examined.
TH 120
Theology II
A systematic overview of biblical doctrine (offered in four sections, I–IV). Part 1 (TH 110) covers Scripture and the nature of God. Part II (TH 120) delves into Christ, the Holy Spirit, and angels. Part III (TH 130) tackles humanity, sin, and salvation. Part IV (TH 140) discusses the church and last things.

Mission & Evangelism
A study of biblical evangelism—sharing one’s faith through a consistent presentation of the gospel message—and a theological and practical look into missions—faithfully fulfilling the Great Commission with a view to reaching people-groups around the globe.
TH 320
Apologetics
A course on the biblical, theological, and historical developments of the defense of the Christian faith (pre-evangelism), addressing intellectual challenges to the gospel and the Christian worldview.
